Extralite G3 Classic and Classic R Camera Sliders

The original idea, where it all began.​ Making a very smooth, silent, extremly light camera slider to a really high standard.

 

The G3 Classic is a carbon rail, solid bamboo​ hardware made camera slider. It is specifically designed for small to medium size camcorders, mirorless cameras and DSLR's up to the all up weight of about 4kg.  Next to its extremly light weight the structure is solid and really well featured. It has its own "all terrain" legs to support but of course when is needed you can utulise its centre tripod mount. All Wood-Comp sliders featuring a "Telescopic Magnetic Side Support" (see picture on the left) which connects to a still ball at the end of the slider and connects back on a baseplate on the leg of your tripod, results in a solid platform for those full lenght sliding shots. The Classic is available in 3 sizes with vertical pulley system incuded. (plug-and-play motorised option comming soon, opening up new possiblities for time-lapse and general unassisted moves.)

"Made of the untinkable. To fulfill my mission in the design of the slider I really had to start think out of the box and consider materials what we normally don't use in applications like this due to there high cost. Fruit of long developmant and testing I invented a special sandwich solution which will give incredible strenght of support to the stucture yet very light. Carbon and Bamboo combined in a uniqe sandwich solution is really well machinable with high precision on CNC milling machine."

Probably the lightest camera slider in the World

Taking advantage of the carbon and bamboo physical properties, the slider results in a very light, yet extremly ridgid structure. At its weight of 490 gram / 1 pound its safe to say that the Wood-Comp EXTRALITE G3 Classic is the lightest camera slider in the industry. 

Performing a smooth, silent ride is a must! No compromise

Thanks to the 8 EZO (Made in Japan) ball-bearings used to mount the carriege, the motion is really smooth and costant in all orientation of the camera slider. In addition to smoothnes it is surprisingly silent too thanks to the Polyurethane running surface of the bearings. This Polyurethane rings are made in Hungary. The density (Shore) of the Polyurethane itself is costume tuned for our request which results in this very nice feel of carriege move. 

Shot in the angle you want

 

Thanks to its robust middle support plate you can mount your camera slider on the top of your tripod virtually in any configuration.  

 

In addition to this, the slider is coming as standard with a special "Telescopic Magnetic Side-Support". It will allow you to use just a single tripod, yet have your slider absolutly ridgid during your full lenght sliding shots. It is utilasable on any tripod, regardless the brand and size of legs as well as any spread of the legs. It's stowed on the side of your slider so is always at hand to use.

 

(The side-support kit is also available to third party brand of sliders. As long as your excisting slider has a 1/4-20 mounting point at one end of the slider is compatible with the Side-Support Kit) 

The Telescopic Magnetic Side-Support..

STABILITY! It is the single most imortant thing to be able to perform a good shot! We dont have the chance to carry two tripod all the time and really, who wants to carry two!? The solution is here in the form of the magnetic side support! It will enable you to have a solid platform, yet you dont even notice that is with you.

 

It is magnetically connecting onto one leg of your tripod and to the end of your slider. It is telescopic so will ecomdodate any situation and agle. Twist it to lock it down and you are ready to shoot! On Wood-Comp models it stows back between the rails at the bottom of the slider (see picture) so its always at hand.

 

It is also available and highly advised to use with any 3rd party camera sliders as long as is equiped with a 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 mounting option at it's end. 

Vertical pulley system bulit in..

All of our camera sliders are aquiped with built in vertical pulley system. As is incorporated into the design is always at hand when you need it!

All-terrain legs as standard 

One of the basic design principal was that the slider should be equiped with all-terrain legs for convenient use on any ground. 

Magnetic end-stops

This is an other revolutionary solution only seen at some of the high end cinema industry motion tools! The opposed polarity magnets will make you feel noticed without looking, that you are reaching the end of your slider. From about the last 2 cm / 3/4" you will feel a cushion like, gradual slow down. 

All Wood-Comp gear is coming with padded carry case. Your slider is an invesmant which must be protected. 

Talking of any camera support or motion tool you must handle it with care so it will serve you for long years to come. From the very beggining I wanted to include a stowing solution, which is simple and protects you slider form the elements. The carry case is made for size and to precise fit. It is constructed of 10mm padded cordoba and is featuring an adjustable strap for convenient sling stile of wearing. 

 

Optional Features 

Subject tracking, Parallax effect..

The G3 Classic R upgrade will elevate your slider "bag of tricks" to something very special! The R upgrade kit is incorporating a rotating table built into the carriege and an adjustable crossbar between the main rails of your slider. When the crossbar set to parallel to the main rails, your slider operating as you would normally expect it from a camera slider. Although, if you start to adjust this crossbar in an angle and set the first and last key frame  of your shot you will be able to track your subject or talent while the sliding movement in any selected area of the frame. Further more, if you turn your slider around, instead of the centre orientated option you will get a panoramic sort of motion through out your slide.
