Introducing the EXTRALITE G3 Camera Slider Family
Cable-Cam
Sliders

Innovative, Forward thinking, Easy to use, Light weight, Feature filled are just some of the keywords which where considered at its design and development of the EXTRALITE G3 camera slider family.

It basically started by the idea to build a somehow ultimate slider for own use. After setting up the guidelines of what this slider should be, the design started. Following the first two - two and a half months the design borne but there was plenty of question remaining. Thanks to SolidWorks computer aided design software many questions answered and by real time modeling the final dimensions got finalized too.

Some of the hightlights:

- Subject Auto Tracking - During this phase a new idea came to mind.. Looking at some advanced motion controlled sliders and seeing how they can track an object in the frame I started to wonder, what if could make the same only by simple mechanical solution.. After few days of playing around and modeling I figured if I incorporate a "turning-table" into the carriage of the slider and by the help of an arm connecting to an adjustable crossbar between the main rails I can achieve my goal and be able to track my talent / subject in any part of the frame. First actual prototype of this idea turned out to be a great success, but as I wanted to make the mechanism truly user friendly and perform those tracking shots with no "glitch" at all I had to spend the next 3-4 months trying to find just the right materials and mechanical solution.

- Telescopic Magnetic Side-Support - The other very important goal was to find a solution and illuminate the usual two tripod / light stand stile of mounting, yet have just as stabled slider only by using one tripod when is came to tripod mounted configuration. I developed a side support which is doing just that. The Magnetic Side-Support is an adjustable carbon rod, which on the top, connects to one end of the slider and in the bottom to its base plate which is mounted on one leg of the tripod. The result is a rock solid platform to work with and only seconds to pop in place or remove by flick of a finger.

- Built in Vertical Pulley System - It is just not fair to have a camera slider without this feature. Free handed, it is really dificult to move the carriage with a constant speed up or down on a sloop not to mention the verticals. Now its over! All Wood-Comp caemra slider are equiped with a built in vertical pulley system to help you out in this sort of shots. It is nice, neat and most of all works wondefully.

Now its ready! Its incredible! We love it so much! We can't imagine using other sliders. Wood-Comp - Innovative Motion Tools for Filmmakers
